Men's league scrapped IN the Bolton Darts League in aid of the Bolton Senior Gateway Club for Mentally Handicapped Adults, because of a low response from men's teams -- mostly the regulars -- the league has no alternative but to disband the teams section forever.
The league will just run the Winter Format for men and ladies individuals which is beginning to get very successful. We have at the moment two men's and two ladies sections at the Moonlight Club, St George's Road, on Thursday and Friday evenings, and one men's and one ladies sections at the RAOB Club, Derby Street, on Friday night. In these sections, there are prizes for every player.
There are still a few vacancies at both the venues stated. If any men or lady players are interested in the Winter Format at the Moonlight Club, St George's Road, for Thursday or Friday evenings, they will play for themselves in sections of 10 or more players. Games will be 501 playing all three legs, two points each winner and aggregate to count.
Ladies throwing distance is from seven feet, and the men seven feet nine-and-a-quarter inches. Four cup competitions will be run throughout the season -- Individuals, Round-the-Board, pairs and Mixed Pairs. Any new players wishing to play in this format should contact Eva Holden immediately on 01204 496242.
Also, if any men and lady players are interested in the Winter Format at the RAOB Club, Derby Street, for Friday evenings, they will play for themselves throughout the season. Games will be 501 playing all three legs, two points for each winner and aggregate to count. Any new players interested in playing in this event should contact Cliff and Pat Boardman on 366091. Also, they can enter by putting their names on a list at the RAOB Club.
The Ladies and Men's Summer League format has now been completed. The final tables are listed.
