A TENNIS court will be demolished to make room for an extension of Turton High School's new media centre.
Bolton Council planners approved the scheme, although some elected members voiced their concern over the loss of one of the community's main leisure facilities.
The centre is currently being built on the Chapeltown Road site in Bromley Cross and the new two-storey extension will create classrooms for the complex.
The school used to have two tennis courts but the new extension will leave only one.
