A MAJOR review of parking at the Royal Bolton Hospital is in the pipeline with hospital chiefs admitting they have "outgrown" the number of people visiting the site.
Director of Operations Beverley Andrew said the results from the review will be expected in the autumn.
Mrs Andrew told members at a Bolton Hospitals NHS Trust board meeting: "We have simply outgrown the number of cars coming to this hospital. We will soon be bringing out a document to show how we can improve the situation."
The matter was brought to the board's attention following complaints from a member of the health watchdog, the Community Health Council.
Trust chairman Peter Liptrott said: "It is a very difficult problem and it is very frustrating to find a car parking space for well people. It must be even more frustrating for those who are unwell."
