AT this time of shock and questioning after the events in America, it might be useful for the people of Bolton to be aware of a forum for those who have questions like: "How can there be a loving God when so many innocent lives are lost?", "Can anything be done to bring good out of such evil situations?", "Is religion to blame for such fanaticism and suffering?"
Churches in Bolton, of many different denominations, have been putting up posters for events where people can come together and ask such questions, and to explore the Christian attitude to the meaning of life. It is called the "Alpha Course" and many tens of thousands of people (including myself) can recommend it.
There's no need just to let these questions and issues fester -- it is best to talk about them.
