FORMER "madam" Cynthia Payne is to address local businesswomen in November.
The woman whose entrepreneurial flair hit the headlines in 1978 is to speak at the annual dinner of Mosaic, the women in Business Forum associated with Bolton and Bury Chamber.
When police raided her suburban home in a pleasant street in Streatham, London, they found middle-aged and elderly men queuing to exchange their luncheon vouchers for food, drink, strip shows and a trip upstairs with the girl of their choice.
Madam Cyn's story was told in the films Wish You Were Here and Personal Services with Julie Walters.
She is now a successful after-dinner speaker and author.
Jan Barnes, chairman of Mosaic, said: "I'm sure Cynthia has a lot to offer on how to run a successful business -- and will treat us to an evening of fun besides.
"Anyone who has heard her speak will know of her wicked sense of humour and I am sure it will be much in evidence on the night."
The dinner is at the new Village Hotel in Bury on Friday, November 2.
Mosaic now has a membership of more than 200 and regular monthly meetings are usually attended by more than 30 members.
Tickets for the evening are open to all for £35 including VAT.
