I WRITE regarding the two buses I travel on to the town centre, namely Blue Bus and Lancashire United.
On the Blue Bus an OAP single fare is 40p, a return is 70p.
On the Lancashire United bus, an OAP single fare is 35p.
Today I bought a return fare on the Lancashire United Bus and, to my shock and amazement, I was charged 76p. On arriving at Moor Lane I queried this with the driver, who said a return is 76p against two single fares for 70p.
I reckon this to be a ludicrous arrangement and daylight robbery.
In future I shall use the Blue Bus. I am Australian and don't mind "going walkabout". I am certainly not going to be taken for a ride by the Lancashire United Buses and wonder how many other OAPs are being ripped off.
