A MAN convicted of drink driving has been jailed for six months and banned from driving for seven years.
Bury magistrates were told Anthony Banks, aged 35, had eight previous convictions for driving while disqualified.
He had another seven for drink related motoring matters.
On the last occasion, in 1999, he had appeared before a court and been disqualified from driving for nine years.
A police officer spotted Banks from Hampton Court, Bury, driving in Bolton Road.
He pulled Banks over and, when he was being interviewed, realised he had been drinking. A breath test proved positive and Banks was found to have 98 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
Judge Knight, sitting stipendiary, said Banks' driving record was one of the worst he had seen.
