Smithills School is staging a tribute evening for Ken Seddon, one of its biggest supporters of the past 10 years, who died last month aged 76.
His widow, Joan, wants the evening to be an enthusiastic festival of music and as a result is being called the Ken Seddon Celebration Concert.
It hopes to raise as much money possible to buy musical equipment for the school in Ken's name.
The event starts 7.30pm in the main Smithills School Hall tomorrow and all those who attend will be asked to make a donation of at least £3 per person (children can attend for free).
No tickets have been printed so it will be a "first come, first seated" concert with the doors opening at 6.45pm.
Main guests for the evening are the Alliance Brass Band from London, conducted by former Smithills pupil Ben Ellin, aged 21, who studies at the Guildhall in London.
The evening will conclude with the massed bands of Smithills School Senior Brass and Alliance Brass performing Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture and everyone singing the hymn St Clement.
