A children's adventure playground, circus, Undersea world which is home to creatures and the deep and an opportunity to visit the top of the Tower and look through The Walk of Faith, an area of glass floor. Open to October, daily, 10am-6pm.
PEEL MONUMENT, Holcombe Hill, Holcombe Village, Bury. Ring 0161 253 5353. A 120ft stone tower built on the summit of Holcombe Hill as a memorial to Sir Robert Peel, the former Prime Minister born in Bury. There are 160 steps to the top of the tower with views of the surrounding countryside. Open to October.
SANDBACH CROSSES, The Square, Sandbach, Cheshire. Ring 01260 271095. Two sandstone obelisks erected in the 8th and 9th Centuries as a monument to the introduction of Christianity in the area. The original sculptures are still visible on the stone carved with animals, dragons and biblical scenes. Open all year, daily.
