I FEEL I must respond to the letter from Malcolm Pittock (Your Views: September 19 --"Force isn't justified").
In the current climate of deteriorating behaviour, crime statistics and world-wide terrorism, what does it take for these people to realise that the current trend of the punishment not fitting the crime, does not work and standing idly by will not make the problem go away.
It is now time, as is beginning to happen, that countries world wide co-operate and destroy these evil organisations and people.
We are fortunate that the views Mr Pittock and others hold today were not listened to during the second world war.
How does he explain the low crime figures in some of the countries of the world, who just happen to have severe punishments? Is that just a coincidence?
Let's stop sitting back and making excuses for the scum of society and sort it out once and for all for the benefit of future generations.
