A DINNER lady who has given 21 years service to a Bolton school has retired.
Edna Gardner, aged 59, of Ellesmere Road, Bolton, enjoyed a party with colleagues held in her honour at Hayward School on Lever Edge Lane to celebrate her early retirement.
She was presented with flowers, a cake and figurines to add to her collection.
Chief dinner lady Sharon Sykes said: "I have been working with Edna for 10 years, she was a good colleague and we will miss her a lot. She is a jolly person, enjoys a laugh and is very conscientious. She is always happy to help."
Mrs Gardner said: "It is not really a case of retiring and relaxing as I will have my hands full with my grandson. I will miss my colleagues, though."
