LEEDS UNITED 0, Wanderers 0

WANDERERS maintained their unbelievable start to the season when they took a point from Leeds at Elland Road.

They didn't do enough to extend their winning start, surrendering the Premiership's only 100 per cent record, but they remain unbeaten

and still top of the league.

Leeds, fancied to be serious challengers to Manchester United in the championship chase, boasted a posse of international stars and were

white-hot favourites to take the three points. But they were frustrated by a Wanderers team that was well-organised, worked hard and

created a handful of situations that, on a luckier afternoon, might have brought goals.

Jussi Jaaskelainen produced two excellent saves in a first half in which - on the strength of chances created - Wanderers had the edge.

And he was hardly troubled in the second until the 89th minute when he saved his own blushes with a vital stop from Robbie Keane after

making a hash of a clearance.

Mike Whitlow and Simon Charlton picked up bookings for fouls in the second period but they were minor indiscretions in otherwise

outstanding individual performances in another sensational team display.
