FANS' VIEW By Alex Sankey LIFE just doesn't come any better as a Bolton Wanderers' supporter - top of the Premiership, Big Sam manager of the month, Bruno Ngotty waiting in the wings and a tremendous performance against a Leeds United side that beat some of the best teams in Europe last season.

A large and vocal Bolton following in a 40,000-plus attendance enjoyed a Wanderers' display full of passion, resolve and sophisticated tactical application. This was a magnificent team effort from the outstanding Jussi Jaaskelainen in goal right through to Michael Ricketts, terrific up front and never giving England defender Rio Ferdinand a moment's respite.

Despite the squad being disrupted by injury, the lads who came in were superb. Henrik Pedersen made a significant contribution in an unaccustomed wide position; his fellow countryman, Bo Hansen, who himself has adapted to a similar role, was full of energy and running and fully deserved the standing ovation he feceived on his late substitution.

Sam has engendered an emphatic work ethic and spirit, epitomised when Dean Holdsworth made an incredible clearance from his own goalmouth within seconds of appearing as substitute, and this, allied to the rapport which has developed between the players, staff and supporters, is a very potent weapon.

These are still early days but, if Wanderers can maintain this mixture of determination and panache, they can continue to confound their critics. They are already starting to earn the respect of the football world and are now referred to on national television as "progressive" Bolton.

Men of the Match: Simon Charlton - again tenacious and resilient - and Per Frandsen - another inspirational performance exuding sheer class in every aspect of his game.
