BURY will spend a week training with a local referee in a bid to improve their terrible disciplinary record.
Local official Mark Halsey will spend the next five days talking to management and players about how they can stay on the right side of the law.
Last season Bury received a suspended £25,000 fine from the FA after picking up more than 80 yellow cards - one of the worst records in the league.
Despite Preece warning his players to stay out of trouble, the new campaign has seen the Shakers once again get on the wrong side of the refs.
Boss Andy Preece hopes that inviting a referee to Gigg Lane will help. "It seems that our players get booked for breathing so we want to know what we are doing wrong," said the bemused manager.
"I want a bit of clarification so Mark is coming in to referee some five-a-side matches and practice games. Hopefully he can tell us what the problem is and we can cut down on the bookings."
Preece also revealed that Portuguese trialist George Santos has been sent home after failing to do enough to earn a contract. BURY will spend a week training with a local referee in a bid to improve their terrible disciplinary record.
