Bolton and Bury Mini Soccer League sponsored by Travelcare HINDLEY Juniors Jets are setting the early pace in the under 9s section A after a narrow 2-1 away win at CMB Assassins, Kieron Scriven and Declan Smith put the Jets in top spot.

Sam Bennett-Allmark scored both goals for Boothstown Casuals as they edged out Horwich St Mary's Warriors 2-1.

Bolton Lads & Girls Club had Josh Halls and Josh Close to thank as they came from behind to defeat Bolton County Raiders 2-1. Alex Meaney was Raiders' goalscorer.

Game of the day saw Westhoughton Rangers come from behind three times to beat Horwich St Mary's Vikings 4-3. Ross Papworth, Jack Poulson and Adam Anwar scored for Vikings but Kieron Edwards, Daniel Cox and Alex Killey (2) hit back for Rangers.

In the Under 9s Section B, Astley Bridge Boys had a fine 1-0 win over Bolton County Lions with a Nathan Halliwell goal while Farnworth Tigers continued their early good form with a comfortable 4-0 win over Ladybridge Crusaders.

Eagley Rangers and Hindsford Wolves cancelled each other out in a 0-0 draw but Boothstown Corinthinians won 3-2 away at Walshaw Park Wolves with goals from Ryan Curtis, Aaron Cunningham and Joe Sweeney.

It was goals galore in section C as all games played produced at least five. North Walkden won 6-0 away at Leigh RMI. In the Bolton County 'derby', the Broncos ran out 6-1 winners over the Cougars and Hindley Juniors Hornets beat Astley Bridge Tigers 3-2. Rivington Juniors produced a fine second-half performance to beat Horwich St Mary's Trojans 7-1.

In section D, Ladybridge Lions had a young girl on target as Hayley Hulme added to an Andrew Burke strike. However, their efforts were in vain as Farnworth Pumas ran out 4-2 victors, Sam Winstanley and Aaron Allcock bagging two-apiece.

Liam Simms and Thomas Simpson helped Oxford Grove Lions to a 2-1 win over Astley Bridge All Stars, Carl Murphy got the Astley consolation and Boothstown Celtic had a strong win over Horwich St Mary's Aztecs.

Improved side

A close game in the under 10s A section was won by Woodbank against an improved Hindsford side with the two goals coming from McDonagh and Bennett. Lads Club continue to impress in an away draw with a classy Horwich St Mary Panthers side, goals by Ward and Patel. Bromley Cross returned to top form in their win against Hindley Terriers which Included hat-tricks for De-Silva and Jackson.

In section B, Farnworth Cougars kicked off their season late but with a convincing win away against Brandlesholme Warriors B with goals from Williams, Darwell and Greaves. An exciting game with nine goals was won by a single goal for Atherton Collieries away to Ladybridge Bulldogs. Meredith scored four of the five Atherton goals, Greenhalgh got the other. Hilton, Short, Burke and Barlow supplied the Bulldogs' goals. Corless got the equaliser and then the winner in the Bolton County SAS away win at Woodbank. Wheelan was the scorer for Woodbank.

In the under 10s C Section, Horwich Cougars beat Bromley Cross with two goals from Fay. Ladybridge Lions and Farnworth Leopards shared the points in a 1-1 draw, scorers Helsby and Burton while Hindsford B secured all the points in their win against Astley Bridge with goals from Smith, 2, Cambray-Philips and Riley.

Six goals by Dorsey and one each by Brookes and Ward gave Bolton County Warriors a comfortable victory against Leigh RMI Hawks in section D. Farnworth Lions scored the deciding goal to win against the in-form Hindley Gazelles in an exciting end to end battle, Lions' goals from Brookes, 2, May and Sam Worthington. Lawson, Midgeley and Hunt scored for the Gazelles.

Ladybridge Crusaders hit five in their win against New Bury Knights, each by different players with Smith, Wujiw, Foster, Jones and Morrison all getting in on the act. Hat-tricks by Atkins and Cooper and two from Meyren were more than enough to give Horwich Cheetahs the win in their game with stablemates Horwich Jaguars.
