IF the Church of England, in its divine and all-giving wisdom, has to ban the totally inoffensive portrait of the late Hayley Cheetham from her headstone, surely it should get rid of all those (imagined) portraits and sculptings of their token leader, Jesus.

After all, he was luckier than Hayley, who tragically died at 24, and people have cashed in on his appearance ever since.

If God is against portraits in churchyards, why is he so tolerant of his vicars living in huge vicarages and his bishops in palaces?

Why does he not keep rebels from demolishing skyscrapers and thousands of people's lives?

If he created the the earth, why not make it healthier to live in, and easier to cultivate so that people do not starve to death.

If things like those do not concern "him", why would he be upset by a picture of a lovely young lady, produced by a family who loved her and were shattered by losing her.
