COLIN Hendry, who misses Saturday's Reebok showdown with Sunderland after his dismissal in the Worthington Cup tie against Walsall, was one of a number of Wanderers' first team squad that beat a Leeds Xl 1-0 at the Yorkshire club's training ground yesterday.
Rod Wallace, who has had a sensational first week at the Reebok, got the goal.
Bruno N'Gotty, Ian Marshall, Akinori Nishizawa and Steve Banks were also in action along with Djibril Diawara - a surprise substitute at Arsenal - who confirmed his recovery from a knee injury by completing his first 90 minutes since joining Wanderers from Torino in the summer.
Leeds included Jonathan Woodgate, Michael Duberry and Jason Wilcox.
Allardyce is now hoping midfielders Gareth Farrelly and Per Frandsen can recover from their recent injury problems - hamstring and ankle respectively - to give him a full-strength squad from which to select his team for the Sunderland game.
"We'll check on them later in the week,." he said.
