THE Cancer Research Campaign is asking runners applying to take part in next year's London Marathon to consider it as their chosen charity.
More than 100,000 people are expected to apply for one of 40,000 places for the annual event which takes place on Sunday April 14th, 2002.
Claire Mallinson, Director of Fundraising for the cancer charity, said: "The marathon is a fantastic opportunity for the campaign to raise vital funds. This year's total currently stands at £280,000 and money is still rolling in. We hope that 2002 will prove to be an even bigger success and urge runners to consider us as their charity."
