MOTORIST Paul Ryder was driving around unaware that he was banned, a court was told.
According to Ryder, the first he knew of the disqualification was when he was pulled over by police for a routine check and their records revealed that he was not allowed to drive. Bury magistrates were told how in August Ryder, aged 37, came to the attention of police as he travelled along Bury Road near his home in Haworth Court, Radcliffe.
Ryder pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and having no insurance. The routine check showed a disqualification imposed in his absence in June.
The case was adjourned until October 9 for a special reasons hearing to take place over why Ryder should not be further disqualified under the totting up procedure. Bail was given.
