STAFFING agency Adecco has identified Bolton and North Manchester as a key area for future expansion.

The company -- one of the sponsors of next year's Commonwealth Games in Manchester -- has a network of 5,000 offices in more than 60 countries and is planning 30 more in the UK by the end of the year.

It describes itself as the global leader in employment services.

Olympic cycling gold medallist Jason Queally is coming to Bolton on October 30 to perform the offical opening ceremony at the branch which has just opened its doors in Churchgate.

Manager Darren Lynch said Bolton and North Manchester had been selected after extensive market analysis.

"Due to the diversity and anticipated growth of companies in the region, Adecco is confident of its capability of providing valuable support to businesses and job seekers alike," he said.

"The investment in the Bolton office means that we can react quickly to shifting customer demands, ensuring we match companies that need workers with people qualified to perform meaningful work."

He said the new Churchgate office was equipped with the latest in Information Technology and assessment and training capabilities.

Commonwealth Games officials and local business leaders will be among those attending the opening ceremony.

Celebrations will also include a 50ft mobile exhibition unit outside the Town Hall with interactive games activities available to all.

Bolton has already introduced a "ground-breaking" career management programme, Adecco Pathway.

"Pathway looks at what you do now and how readily your talents can be transferred, perhaps with a little encouragement or training, into a more rewarding position with better job prospects," Mr Lynch said.
