PLEASE print this letter in the hope that the driver of the car who hit a boxer dog on Chorley Old Road on September 24, at 8.10am, and did not stop, reads it. Some schoolchildren saw what happened and came to my house. The dog, a boxer bitch, not very old, had run into my neighbour's garden and hid in a corner. I rang the police.
The RSPCA were contacted by my neighbour. After waiting an hour for someone to come, the Apple Video people shut their shop and took the dog to a vet. The RSPCA officer arrived -- he had been held up in heavy traffic. He contacted the vet and took over from there. The driver should have stopped and reported the incident to the police. I just hope someone got his registration number.
