AN inquest has been opened into the death of a man who died at a nursing home while in respite care. Retired chargehand John Eric Conwell, aged 68, of Normandy Crescent, Radcliffe, died at Chestnut Court Nursing Home, Newton Street, Bury, on September 17.
Bury District Coroner Barrie Williams was informed that a pathologist had carried out a post-mortem examination and the results were awaited. Because of police inquiries, a further examination had been necessary and this had received the consent of the family.
The coroner adjourned the hearing pending the outcome of the inquiries.
