RESIDENTS in North Bolton will go to the polls today to elect a new parish councillor for the vacant Chapeltown seat on North Turton Parish Council.
Candidates Graeme McIver and Deborah Dunleavy will compete for the seat left vacant in June following the resignation of parish councillor Jenny Holditch.
Mr McIvor, of Foxdale Close, Edgworth, represents the Green Party and Mrs Dunleavy, of Greens Arms Road, Chapeltown, represents the Tories.
North Turton Parish Council is strictly non-political and the council aims to elect a fair mixture of members from each political group. Local interest, willingness and residence are the main priorities.
All those eligible to vote can do so in The Broadhead Room of St Anne's Church in High Street, Chapeltown. Results are expected to be announced later this evening.
