A WOMAN remains critically ill in hospital today after being cut from the wreckage of he car.
The 27-year-old, from Smithills, was involved in a collision with a van in Belmont Road on Monday. She was cut from the wreckage of her Fiat Cinquecento by firefighters and is believed to have suffered severe internal and head injuries. The motorist, who has not been named, is in a critical but stable condition at the Royal Bolton Hospital. Her parents flew back from a holiday in America to join the woman's husband at her bedside.
A MAN has been taken to hospital with head and suspected back injuries after a head-on collision in Belmont.
The car crash happened in Longworth Road around 7am today.
Paramedics treated the injured man, who has not been named, and took him to Royal Bolton Hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle escaped unhurt.
