IN reply to Grenville Moore, who commented on my letter in Your Views on September 14 -- I agree Jesus was talking to his disciples but, then, I consider all who follow Jesus are disciples.
Did not the Lord command his disciples to go out and make disciples of all men (Matthew 28.19)?
With regard to the passage from Jeremiah which foretells the new covenant -- Jesus would bring -- the Lord repeats this (John 6.45).
Jesus brought the new covenant for did he not say "This is my blood which seals God's covenant" (Matthew 26.28)?
When born again, we are a child of Jesus and a member of God's holy nation (Peter 1.2 9).
We now have all the promises given to Abraham. When you live in the body of Christ you have one leader who is the Messiah (Matthew 23.10).
