SOAP star Zak Dingle popped into a Bury pub for a charitable cause.
Zak, alias actor Steve Halliwell, from the ITV series Emmerdale, swapped the Woolpack for the White Horse in Hall Street, Walshaw.
Steve, whose brother Clive is a pub regular, handed over a cheque for more than £7,500 to the Bury and Bolton branch of Altogether for Christies.
"For one pub to raise so much in such a short space of time is amazing," said Steve. "It is wonderful when people unite in this way," he added.
Landlady Liz Malone added: "We have had fantastic support for a wide variety of fund-raising events and remarkably, we only started five months ago."
Tom and Joan West, representing Altogether for Christies, which raises money for the Manchester cancer centre, attended the presentation.
Tom said: "We cannot thank the people at the White Horse enough for their efforts and generosity and to have a celebrity like Steve involved just put the icing on the cake for us."
