A BOLTON woman has lost her four-day fight for life after a road accident.
Karen Blackburn, aged 28, died in hospital as a result of the injuries she suffered in a two-car crash on her way to work.
Mrs Blackburn, of Woodburn Drive, Smithills, died at the Royal Bolton Hospital where she had been on a ventilator. Her family was at her bedside.
Mrs Blackburn's parents had flown back from America to join her husband at the hospital.
She was involved in an accident on Belmont Road, Bolton, at 9am on Monday when her car was involved in an accident with a van. Firemen had to cut Mrs Blackburn out of her wrecked Fiat Cinquecento car. She suffered multiple injuries.
Her husband was today staying with relatives.
