PLANS to build a three-storey complex of flats in Chorley New Road, Lostock, have been rejected by councillors.
Under the plans, six units and eight car parking spaces would have been created with access from Garsdale Lane.
Local residents had opposed the plan. They claimed the building and iron railings would be an eyesore and the development would cause parking and road safety problems.
Councillors refused the plan, saying it would have an adverse effect on the character and appearance of the area.
