WORKERS on the minimum wage will get an increase from today with new regulations coming into force.
Most workers qualify for the increase, with people aged over 22 entitled to £4.10 an hour and 18 to 21-year-olds receiving £3.50.
But the Low Pay Unit (LPU) continues to express concern about the high numbers of part time jobs on low-level incomes.
The LPU claims that many families are still topping up their wages by claiming benefits and family tax relief.
