Musical takes cast down memory lane SEVERAL members of St Catherine's Amateur music Society's latest cast list could be excused for developing distinct feelings of deja vu . . .
The group is presenting the musical Mame for its next production -- a show members last presented in 1987.
And among the cast for 2001 are several of those who appeared in the production 14 years ago.
However, the title role of Mame is to be played by Carmela Horne, pictured. She will be joined by other principals Ryan Quick, Alice Bowmer, Christian Brabin, Debbie Bolton, Dennis Meehan, Tim Shorten and Stanley Porter.
An eleventh hour addition to the cast comes in the form of Howard Clare.
Howard has come to the rescue by agreeing to play the part of Ito with only two weeks of rehearsal.
Paul Cohen produces the show, with Louise Cohen choreographer. Peter Barnett takes the baton as guest conductor and chorus master.
The show starts at 7-30pm and runs from Monday, October 8 to Saturday, October 13, at Harper Green Secondary School, Farnworth. The theatre entrance is via the large gates at the top end of Harper Green Road.
Tickets are £5 and £4.50 from Monday to Friday, and £5.50 for everyone on Saturday.
Next year marks the society's 30th anniversary and for the 2002 landmark production, members will be presenting the musical Fiddler on the Roof.
Anyone interested in being involved in the show should contact secretary, Mrs J Wilson, on 495840. TITLE ROLE: Carmela Horne
