Mrs Barbara Keech (nee Campbell) is trying to organise a re-union of the pupils of Form 5M, Bolton Secondary Technical School, 1953.
She has sent me this picture of the class, and tells me that she is in the centre of the middle row.
She writes: "My friend Dorothy Doran went to live in America many years ago, and we lost touch. Last summer Dorothy 'found' me , and she will be in Bolton at the beginning of September. We would love to see as many old school friends as possible at The Watermillock, Crompton Way, Bolton, at 7.30pm on Saturday, September 15.
"We attended the Commercial School, but we would welcome anyone who attended any of the other schools which made up the Technical School, namely the Building Dept., the Engineering Dept., and Textiles. I think we all went to this (then) new school in 1951, and I have some photographs taken on the roof of the Technical College in Manchester Road, of all the pupils who attended. Dorothy and I are looking forward to studying these pictures and are hoping to put names to faces, so I would really like to contact as many people as possible. A few names I recall are Enid Radcliffe, Mary Humphryson (who later became Councillor Mary Higham), Margaret Ratcliffe, Beryl Smith, Graham Booth, C.G. Bennett, Marion Fish, Mildred Ainsworth, Sheila Coughlin, Kathleen Yates, R. Patterson, Valerie Newall, Margaret Williams, Norman Walker, Gillian Arnold, and Howard Broadbent, a well-known entertainer in Bolton."
You can contact Mrs Keech at 6, Whitehill Cottages, Sharples (Phone 591333, Fax 602636, or e-mail b.argekeech@btinternet.com
I am sure you will have a very chatty re-union.
