A MAN charged with the murder of his neighbour appeared at Bolton Magistrates Court.
Ian White, aged 42, of no fixed address, spoke only to confirm his personal details and that he understood the charge when he stood in the dock yesterday.
Dean Houghton, aged 35, of Gilnow Road, Heaton, died on Friday night after an incident in the block of bedsit flats where they both lived.
White, who was dressed in a dark blue T-shirt and grey jogging bottoms, and handcuffed to a security guard, will appear at Manchester Crown Court on October 10, when the case will be given a preliminary hearing.
Mr Craig Morris, defending, did not make an application for bail.
