BOLTON Pianos' centre Sam Hallewell had an outstanding game against Chequers to assist her team in a convincing victory.

Good defensive play by Chequers' Lyndsay Turley in the second half reduced the scoring to only six goals but the half time lead could not be matched. Final score 24-15.

Excellent umpiring by Ann Marie Forster and Linda Ramsden for Barnstormers versus DB3. Both Red Lion and Thatch and Thistle had convincing victories this week, due to Shooters' Sarah Abercrombie and Sue Winrow being in remarkable form.

Recently promoted Sharples head the table in Division Two along with Acdoco Angels. Both these teams have several young and gifted players. Bupa A had a good recovery in the second half against Darcy Lever scoring 10 goals. However the half time deficit of eight goals could not be matched and Darcy took the five points. Players of the Match went to Georgina Clays and S. Howarth.

B.A.D. Girls and St. Bonifaces had a close game with only four goals separating them at half time. B.A.D. Girls kept up the pressure when on form Sam Atherton scored some excellent shots. Francine Thorpe was voted Player of the Match by B.A.D. Girls who took the five points.

Jammie Dodgers in Division Three had their first win against Design a Loft. Leading by three goals at half time due to Gemma Morris's strong defensive play, Design a Loft missed sharing the points by one goal.

Spread Eagle had a tough game on their hands when they met Greymare, only one goal separated them throughout the match. Vicky Forrest, wing attack for Spread Eagle, played consistently throughout giving her team victory by 19 goals to 18. High Spirits and Dreams and Drapes are both undefeated in this division and look even at this early stage as contenders for the title.

Smithills are taking this division by storm. The only unbeaten team in Division 4 with a remarkable score in four games of 130 goals. S.J.S.C. newly promoted side are having a terrific start to the season. This week they played Royal Bank and led at half time by 12 goals due to on form shooting by J. Hewson. Royal Bank fought back and won the second half by four goals, good court play by centre Nancy Butler. Final score 22-16 to S.J.S.C.

Tyldesley and B.I.H.E. both have unblemished records in Division 5. Excellent defensive play by Dawn Cook and Clare Elding have only allowed 48 goals and 34 goals respectively to pass between the goalpost in four games, a major achievement. B.I.H.E. have currently the largest goal scoring record in the League. Carla Elding and Laura Pugh are certainly on form. Bolton Metro were trailing at half time by two goals to Wingates. The second half continued with end to end play, the lead changing constantly between both teams. Bolton Metro proved the stronger and took the five points, final score 27-26.
