BOLTON Under 14s are still waiting for their first win of the season after going down 6-5 to a Glasgow XI in their challenge match at Hacken Lane.
The local youngsters were quick off the mark opening their account after 10 minutes through Joe Whittaker (Mount St. Josephs) but the visitors hit back to send the teams in at the break all square.
Dominic Grimes (St. Josephs) restored Bolton's lead with a well worked goal but the Scottish lads were soon back on level terms courtesy of an own goal.
The second half continued to see saw with Bolton taking the lead after a strike from Carl Budworth (Westhoughton) but Glasgow came back strongly to draw level at 3-3.
James Molineaux (Rivington and Blackrod) restored Bolton's lead for the fourth time only to see his effort cancelled out by a fourth Glasgow goal.
Billy McGuiness (Turton) fired home late in the game to give Bolton a 5-4 advantage but the Scottish visitors smashed in two goals in the last four minutes to snatch a last ditch win.
Bury Under 15s suffered a set back losing their first match of the season 3-1 to Preston in a challenge match at the Derby School.
The local youngsters failed to take their chances in an entertaining first half and trailed 2-0 at the break.
Kyle Cromey pulled a goal back for the home side late in the second half but Preston restored their two goal advantage to run out comfortable victors.
