FRANCO Balasteros was hailed by his teammates on Sunday for scoring the goal which earned his team Anglers a 1-1 draw at Church Inn. Mick Peak as the home team scorer.
Sean Whorlow bagged four and Tony Urmston and Tony Ashbarry one each in Griffin's 6-1 Division One win over Gilnow Arms, Lee Jones the losers marksman.
Alex Wardle picked up the man of the match award as his stirring left wing play was highly instrumental in New Edition's 3-1 win over Windowplas. Goals came from Mark Greenhalgh, Steve Tinsley and Wardle himself with Mick Wright replying.
In Division Two Chris Patterson stole the show for Lane Ends with five goals in a 7-1 win at Greenfield. Tempest united joint manager Jon Senior chipped in with two with the home team's reply coming from John Smale. Tonge United and Little Hulton Cricket Club shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw, David Liversedge (2) and Mick Hart scoring for the hosts and Roberts, Cooper and Lomas for the visitors.
FC Baroc won 5-3 at Farnworth Whites, Danny Coyle notching a hat-trick to add to goals from Andrew Swindell and Anthony Bonnar. Gary McArthy and Germaine Samuels scored for NW Paper but it was not enough as they went down 3-2 at home to Jolly Waggoner, Shaun Kinsella, Chris Hayes and Neil Ross scoring for the victors.
Dave Pope and Jay McCredie saw Bibbys to a 2-1 home Division Three win over Beaumont. Elsewhere Wayne Jenkins bagged three and Mick Rawlinson one in Seven Stars 4-2 triumph over Farmers Arms, Mark Blackshaw and Ben Andrew responding.
Grapes Stoneclough were the day's top scorers in a 8-5 win at Doffcocker. Gary Mather got three, Russell Fox two and one each came from Darren McEve, Kevin Fletcher and Robert Drinnan. Paul Worsley, John Kay, Nick Smith, Ian Cockeran and James Brown scored for Doffcocker. James Jackson (2), Leon Jackson and Gary O'Neill saw Hare and Hounds Breightmet to a 4-3 victory at Wellington.
