BOLTON youngsters are set to sing for pleasure at a youth choir festival on Saturday, October 13.
The event at the Victoria Hall is open to all choirs of secondary school age and above throughout Bolton. The cost is £3 per participant.
Lin Marsh is guest conductor for the day, and Rob Wilding will be the Sing for Pleasure tutor.
The festival day runs from 10.30am through to an evening concert which draws to a close at 9.15pm.
Lin is a composer and voice specialist who runs workshops and courses throughout the country. She currently directs The South Oxfordshire Young Singers, co-directs The South Oxon Youth music and Drama Group, and the Oxfordshire Youth Music Theatre.
Rob, a very experienced tutor and conductor trainer, is director of music at Canon Slade School, Bolton.
Workshop sessions will run throughout the day.
A concert will be staged at 7pm, featuring invited choirs in the first half. In the second half there will be a massed choir performance.
Tickets for the concert are £3 and £2, and are available from the Bolton Music Service on 333533, or on the door.
