BOLTON Golf Club member Philip Riding, who is a member of the Rotary Club of Bolton Daybreak, has won the Northern regional final of the National Rotary Golf competition.
Philip beat opponents from as far afield as Denton, Barnsley and Durham during the matchplay competition and now travels to Woburn Golf Club on October 12 to play against the other eight regional winners over 36 holes on the famous Dukes and Duchess courses.
The winner collects a prize of £500 for his own Rotary Club's charity account paid for out of the entrance fees collected from nearly 400 competitors. All the regional winners also receive a prize of £250 for their club charity accounts.
