THE sound of music is set to be ringing out from the Victoria Hall, Bolton, with the introduction of a new member of staff.
Jeremy Plummer has been appointed director of music to the Victoria Hall.
The post is part of the development for the hall and Jeremy will lead the music for the regular worship there at 10.30am and 6.30pm each Sunday, and at 12.15pm on Wednesdays.
He will develop singing and instrumental groups, while broadening the range of styles of music.
Jeremy has also been appointed training secretary to the Methodist Church Music Society and plans to develop musical experience in worship to not only churches in the area, but throughout the Methodist district.
Courses will include "Leading Music in Worship" and the "Organ Training Scheme".
In addition he will develop contacts between the Victoria Hall and the town centre, building on existing concerts and creating other musical events at the venue.
Jeremy is an experienced church musician, a local preacher and member of the Third Order of the Society of St Francis. Courses he has organised for church groups include "Music and Prayer", "Music and Healing", "New Tools for Worship", and "Singing for the Terrified".
