PER Frandsen faces a race to be fit for Bolton Wanderers' next Premiership test against Newcastle on October 12.
The influential midfielder is under intensive treatment on the ankle injury that forced him to withdraw from Denmark's vital World Cup qualifier against Iceland in Copenhagen on Saturday.
Frandsen had a miserable weekend after returning from an two match absence with ankle ligament damage as a second half substitute in the 2-0 home defeat by Sunderland.
He failed from the penalty spot in the turning point of the game then woke up on Sunday morning to find that his ankle had swollen again.
