A MAN relived in court how he saw his brother suffer fatal injuries in a street attack.
Carl Akister, aged 25, was first witness in the trial of brothers Andrew and Darren Pilkington at Manchester Crown Court.
Mr Akister said after leaving a Hindley pub, he saw the pair fighting with his brother.
He said: "I saw Andrew Pilkington jump and stamp on his head with his full weight when Paul was defenceless on the ground.
"There was at least one stamp and a few kicks from them both before I ran over to them and they left."
The two men, now aged 20 and 19, and of Bridgewater Street, Hindley, deny murdering Paul Akister, aged 30, on November 3 last year.
Andrew Pilkington also denies wounding Mr Akister in the pub. The prosecution alleges Pilkington struck Mr Akister with a glass in the Bonnie Lasses, Market Street, Hindley.
It led to a fight outside involving all three and Mr Akister died from head injuries shortly afterwards.
