POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an accident on Tuesday afternoon.
A 49-year-old pedestrian needed hospital treatment after he was involved in a collision with a black car at the junction of Wilton Road and Belmont Road in Astley Bridge at 4.40pm.
The driver of the car failed to stop following the incident.
The pedestrian, John Chadwick, of Arundel Street, Astley Bridge, suffered cuts and bruises, but was not kept in hospital.
