A LEADING rotarian praised the Westhoughton branch of the organisation for raising £10,000 for charity over the past 12 months.
District governor Gerald Higham made a visit to the town as part of his programme of keeping in touch with clubs across the North-west.
During a speech he emphasised the need for rotarians to continue to be out-looking, constantly trying to recruit new members and fully involving the community.
Mr Higham, who is district governor until 2002, covers an area which spreads from Saddleworth in the east to the Isle of Man in the west.
He is pictured on the right with recently elected Westhoughton Club President John Moultrie.
