SMALL and medium-sized enterprises in Bolton and Bury are being invited to attend a health and safety training programme which has already helped 120 local firms to raise their performance and boost profitability.
A nationally-recognised programme pioneered by Bolton and Bury Chamber provides accreditation for the business and ensures that the individual attending the course introduces a range of systems, procedures, processes and documentation for the benefit of the organisation and workforce as a whole.
The OCR 509 Health and Safety qualification is designed to meet the specific needs of small and medium-sized businesses, while the OCR 1322 targets those in the construction sector.
OCR 1322 is recognised by the Construction Industry Training Board which is providing training grants.
The programmes, which are delivered by the Chamber's health and safety experts in partnership with training providers Hardaker and Associates, are performance-based and each candidate is assessed on site to ensure that the business introduces best practice.
Steve Horrocks, health and safety manager for the Chamber, said: "These courses provide the definitive seal of quality in health and safety for small and medium-sized firms. Possession of the OCR 509 or 0CR 1322 standard will also help companies boost their reputation, efficiency and profitability."
The three-day OCR 509 course will run on November 21, and December10 and 11. The four-day OCR 1322 is scheduled for December 4,13,17 and 18. Further details from Steve Horrocks at the Chamber on 01204 374690 or shorrocks@chamberhelp.co.uk
