A 10-YEAR-OLD boy needed the help of firefighters after he was injured while out fishing.
The youngster suffered a nasty cut to his ear after someone nearby cast their rod and the barbed end of a "pike plug" caught him and it became lodged in his ear. The youngster walked into Farnworth station and firefighters removed the piece of metal from his ear last night and advised the boy to visit the Royal Bolton Hospital for a tetanus jab.
