ANTI-war protesters took to the streets of Bolton claiming the world was about to be threatened by the biggest humanitarian crisis for more than 50 years.
Members of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament handed out leaflets in Victoria Square yesterday, asking people to join the "Bolton Coalition to Stop the War".
CND member Malcolm Pittock said the continuing military attack on Afghanistan would lead to "a spiral of conflict".
He said: "I find it hard to understand how America could contemplate bombing the poorest country in the world.
"Afghanistan's people are starving and have put up with terror for too long.
"America should be seeking extradition of Osama bin Laden by diplomatic means."
The Coalition will be gathering at Friends Meeting House, Silverwell Street, Bolton, on October 18.
