WALMSLEY Church AODS presents Into the Woods from Monday to Saturday, November 12 to 17.
music and lyrics are by Stephen Sondheim, and the musical is based on a book by James Lapins.
The story contains many familiar fairytale characters including Cinderella, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood and more.
Tales become entwined when all the characters are drawn together in the woods, each seeking the thing which will most improve their lives.
By the end of Act One most stories have been happily resolved but the story spirals out of control and takes on a new, sometimes sinister twist in the second act.
The show, rarely performed by amateur groups, bares all the usual hallmarks of Sondheim's witty lyrics and spellbinding music.
Tickets are £6 (£3.50 for senior citizens on Monday evening only), are from Mrs Haslam on 01204 303835, or The Parish Hall on Tuesday and Friday, from 8pm.
