CHORLEY and District Sea Anglers were due to fish a match from the south west facing beach at Rosneigr, Anglesey but stormy conditions resulted in a change of venue and the match was switched to Cemlyn Bay on the island's north coast.
The 18 anglers enjoyed better conditions with a strong south westerly wind on their backs. The sport proved slow until darkness when the middle section of the bay produced a few dogfish, high water caused a drop in the catch rate after which they started showing again.
Dale Edwards of Wigan won the match with five fish, just ahead of Alan Smith of Farnworth, who managed to sneak in a fourth dog to share second place with Preston angler Andrew Griffiths.
The club meets at 8pm on the first Tuesday of the month at the Conservative Club, Stump Lane, Chorley. The club holds its Autumn Open at Fleetwood on Sunday, October 21. Contact Bill Hodgson on 01942 811975 or Syd Wisdom on 01772 813059 for details.
