ON February 9, I wrote to you about the plight of a young man shuffling around Bolton in a sorry state.
I got a few calls from people feeling the same as me who also took treats for him, in particular, a young man who brought him a meal.
A man from Social Services rang to tell me not to worry. He had a flat and was fine. It was supervision he needed, in his opinion. Now, all at once, no young man. Good, at least something is being done.
Wrong! On at least three occasions, while driving past Doffcocker, I've seen him still wandering around. The sad point is, who will bother giving him treats now? To me, it sounds like another case of -- "out of sight, out of mind". Moving him does not solve his problem.
