THE foot and mouth crisis had a disastrous effect on motor club events during the year, it was disclosed at the annual meeting of Red Rose Land Rover Club at Euxton Lane Sports and Social Club, Chorley.
More than 50 members were told of the financial problems resulting from cancellation of events caused by travel restrictions.
A full calendar of events is planned for the next 12 months and it was stressed how important it was for all members to fully support to ensure a quick recovery from the cancellations.
The club's continued support of Derian House Children's Hospice was noted.
It was also pointed out that a new club base was needed following the likely closure of the Euxton Lane Sports and Social Club early next year.
The club welcomes new members and offers of land for use by the club.
