CHORLEY Golf Club have qualified for the North West Regional Final of the 2001 Sunday Telegraph Junior Team Golf Championships by winning their Bolton & District Junior League.
The regional final, which will be played over 18 holes at Mere Golf & Country Club in Knutsford, Cheshire on October 11, will see the clubs coming against the best of the North West's Junior sides, with teams from Wirral, Scunthorpe, Sheffield, Lancashire, Cheshire, Bury and Derbyshire all taking part.
The winners and runners up at Mere will then go on to the English Final at Old Thorns Golf & Country Club in Liphook, where they will play the winners from each of the four other regional finals taking place across the country. Here they will be competing for the chance to go on an and represent England in the Home Nations Championship Final at La Manga Club in Spain on November 23-27 -- a once in a lifetime opportunity for the junior players to represent their country, on television, playing at Europe's leading golf and leisure resort.
Chorley will be a tough side to beat at this year's North West Regional Final, but with so many talented young juniors all desperate to help their side into the Home National Grand Final at La Manga Club, the day should be one to remember.
